My experience at Medium Day

The first edition of Medium Day took place this month on August 12th and 13th. I had a session and attended others, so I thought it would be great to share my thoughts on this experience. In this small article, I will talk about why I attended. Then I will discuss what I liked the most, and I will conclude with my experience sharing my story. The video of my session is at the end of this article.

This article is not a collection of my personal notes about the conferences. It is also not a transcript of my talk, as you can access it on YouTube.

Why I attended

When I saw the first emails promoting the event, I immediately registered and saved the date in my agenda. I had just started writing on Medium this year, and the idea of discovering other creators “in real life” was very appealing. Additionally, I wanted to better understand how Medium works. However, when I saw that writers could submit a story to talk about during the day (or more than one), I didn’t immediately think I would do such a thing!

I remember that upon seeing the first email calling for writers to share their stories, I thought, “This is probably for big creators with thousands of followers and many years of experience, not for beginners like me.”
