Every day developers get rejected in interviews, not because of their development skills, but because of their interview skills.

Looks (technical skills) create initial attraction but personality is more important in a long-term relationship. In an interview, you have to show your personality.

Making a good first impression and showing your soft skills and character are as important as technical skills. A developer's character isn’t captured on their CV, you have to show it in the interview and this is where thinking of the interview as a date helps.

Technical interviews are an unreliable way of assessing developers because it’s biased towards people you like.

Knowledge, CVs, and certifications are no guarantee if a developer can’t write software — which is why interviews are conducted to know their experience.

Developers should approach an interview like a date, leave a good first impression, and make the interviewer want to hire them by following the below…
